Farmhouse Bakery Perfection

Everybody has a seat at The Table

Today is National Coffee Day (or #internationalcoffeeday) and I can't think of any better way to celebrate it then to share a post on my favorite local coffee shop. If you are local to central North Carolina I hope you have been to The Table Farmhouse Bakery. Located in downtown Asheboro, central Randolph County, and luckily only 15 minutes from our farm is the sweetest little business. Our family frequents this wonderful restaurant, coffee house, and bakery for the charming ambience, service, patrons and of course the NC local Counter Culture Coffee.

All the food is truly heavenly. I think we have tried everything on the menu after supporting this small business since it opened nearly six years ago. This week they announced a new fall menu that has me anxious to go back.
The Table Farmhouse Bakery's dirty chai latte and meringue
Above is a strawberry meringue and chai latte. The merinque is light and sweet and a simple dessert when you need just a little pick me up. The chai latte from The Table is the best I have ever had and I say that as a chai tea connoisseur.

My favorite breakfast and brunch meal is the Grits & Greens. Hands down the tastiest classic Southern breakfast featuring local stone ground creamy rich grits, flavorful collard greens, smooth pimento cheese and warm ham. The flavors in this dish are heartwarming and savory. I recommend you give this special treat a try. I promise you will remember this dish.

Asheboro's the Table Farm Bakery shopping market and gifts
The adorable little market area inside the bakery area is the perfect spot to grab treats for a picnic or a quick gift for your favorite foodie. I love to get my parents food treats from the market section. They have shared rave reviews for everything they have tried. The market even features seasonal decor, table wear, cooking utensils, bags, coffee mugs, shirts and lotions. My favorite gift from here though is a gift card. You can never go wrong with that.

I have friends that travel to The Table every trip they make into our quaint little Asheboro town just so they can purchase more of their favorite granola. I have got to say this granola is exceptional. When served over Greek yogurt and fresh fruit you have a delicious and nutritious breakfast.

Every trip to The Table should consist of a coffee and a baked good. Luckily for my Celiac Disease family we are able to enjoy the most amazing gluten free and flourless options. The desserts are made in an allergen environment, but do not directly contain gluten ingredients when labeled gluten free. Eating these gluten free desserts does not make me miss gluten in the least. The superior quality and creativity of these handcrafted recipes is magical.

For those of you that can eat all the wheat, rye and barley in gluten you will love the traditional baked goods as well. My husband can attest to that. His favorite treat is the oatmeal cream pie. Select your favorite goodie from a choice of cinnamon rolls, muffins, strudel, cookies, cakes, brioche, tarts and danish for starters.

Then right before you reach the counter an register to place your order you will see the beloved cooler filled with more desserts. In this section at the front of the counter you will find mousse, tarts, cheesecake, cakes and more yummy treats that are chilled and ready for you to enjoy.

One of the most important things to note is the exceptional service the staff provide from this small establishment. It truly is a family atmosphere and everyone is genuinely polite and caring. You will not forget your dining experience.

On our last visit my husband and I shared the gluten free pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing and I tried the chai latte "dirty" with a double shot of espresso served over ice. This was the perfect welcoming to the fall season.

Let me know if you get the visit The Table, and please let me share what your favorite treat is. Happy weekend from our NC farm to your part of the world.
